After being on this planet a few years, I certainly found a few wonderful things that I love that has grounded me and centers me when the world seems off. I’ve been teaching Art for over 20 years in Atlanta, Chicago, New York City, and now in Tampa Bay. I’ve taught all ages from kindergarten to adult classes. I love my day job but as an artist, I always look forward to returning to my studio in the evening. Making art is a lot like breathing. It’s just something you have to do. My happy mediums are watercolors and acrylics. I love experimenting with variety of mixtures and combinations and watching the magic happen.
I’m inspired by my garden, a quick trip in my canoe around my lake in northern Wisconsin, music, family, watching my daughter do cart wheels, or anything that might just catch my eye. For corporate and private commissions, I like to hear what the client is interested in, see the room, sit in the space and capture the essence with what the vision is needed for the wall.
Someone once asked me what inspires me… Art does. That gets me going every day. As a painter, I’m constantly motivated by nature, spirituality and all earthy forms.
The one thing I know for sure, it gives me great joy making a client, mother, or family burst with joy when they see their new piece of art in their space. There is nothing better.
